Kobe Beef burger lunch deal at the Old Homestead is an excellent value
On a recent trip to New York City, the Burgerista had a great opportunity to have a Kobe beef burger. Before this time, the price of Kobe beef burgers have deterred me from getting one as I’ve viewed such a fine type of beef “too good” to be served on a bun.
Old Homestead has an amazing lunch deal on the Kobe beef burger. For $19 you get a Caesar Salad, a Kobe beef burger served with tater tots, and a glass of wine. It’s truly a value you cannot beat. On weekdays this offer is available from noon to 4pm and on the weekends, from 1pm to 4pm.

Caesar Salad at the Old Homestead
The Caesar salad was ok; the lettuce was fresh and crisp, but the parmesan cheese and the dressing didn’t taste very good. had I had it with a steak meal, I would’ve been disappointed. It doesn’t compare to the Caesar salad from Ruth’s Chris, for example.
The burger was excellent, probably the best one the I’ve ever had. Based on our waiter’s recommendation, I ordered the burger medium rare, instead of my usual medium-well. The patty had a nice, crisp surface, and the meat was absolutely perfect on the inside. The meat was soft as silk, tender, juicy and very easy to eat.
The only minor complaint was that the bottom half of the bun was cut a little too thin, so the juices from the patty made it a little soggy towards the end. Regardless of this rather minor detail, this was one of the best, if not the best, burger I’ve had to date.
